A couple of burritos from Iguanas post Black Mountain Long RunThis week, I had the pleasure of hosting my long-time friend Adam Visokay. Adam was in town to pace a couple of races at Standord’s Cardinal Classic track meet, so, naturally, I had him stay out my house for the couple of days. The highlight of the week was, undeniably, Sunday morning. His 1pm flight provided a bit of a time crunch, but that didn’t keep us from crushing a long run at Rancho and then devouring some burritos from Iguanas promptly thereafter.
Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve has been a constant in my life for just about as long as I can remember. It was where I began running, formed lifelong friends, and developed as both an athlete and person. I am quick to bring up Rancho and even faster to proclaim the impact that it’s had on me. But, for all my praise, I haven’t had many opportunities to show my friends the dirt trails that reside within its bounds. Having Adam here was a perfect opportunity and, fortunately, my body has been feeling good enough to spend 90 minutes running with him up Black Mountain.
